Nice example of this scarce original 1822 'Tertio' issue - Third Year of Reign - United Kingdom silver Crown coin. 

'DECUS ET TUTAMEN. ANNO REGNI TERTIO' - The regnal year 3 of George IV (1820 - 1830) reign is in raised edge lettering to the rim.

Designed and engraved by Benedetto Pistrucci / Jean Baptiste Merlen with a mintage issue of approx 125,000.

The obverse features the laureate head of King George IV facing left, with the surrounding legend:

'GEORGIUS IIII D: G: BRITANNIAR: REX F: D:'.

The reverse depicts St George, the patron saint of England, on horseback, slaying the dragon.

Good condition overall with age tarnishing.
