Straw filled / padded cloth body, Bisque / composition lower arms and hands, The dress fabric has yellow, black and red colouring - the national colours of Belgium. Complete with original fabric label reading: 'Liberty', 'Unica Patent', 'Courtray, Belgium'
Made by Unica immediately after the end of World War II to commemorate the liberation of Belgium from the German occupation in 1945. Unica made their dolls with whatever materials were available at the time - composition, bisque and cloth. Similar dolls were also made to commemorate the liberation of Holland.
Size: Stands approx 12.50" tall.
Condition: Previously owned. Extremely good condition. This doll has not been cleaned and therefore is grubby from long term storage etc. Side seam to her knickers requires a few replacement stitches
